Is it okay to still use windows xp sp3 in 2012?
I recently was given a laptop with Windows Xp Sp3 Home Edition and I was going to use this laptop for school just to write word documents and use powerpoint. I know microsoft is ending support for xp in 2014 but will it still be okay to use xp on this laptop in 2012? All my friends say to upgrade to windows 7 but this laptop will definitely not be able to handle windows 7 let alone windows vista. Give me your opinion thanks! BTW yes I do have a windows 7 desktop this ill not be my primary computer. Just to bring to school and type word docs and stuff maybe browse youtube for a couple of minutes. EDIT: The specs for this laptop are 1gb of ram, 60gb hard drive, amd sempron at 2.0ghz and an ATI MOBILITY RADEON Xpress 200 Series. thats why i dont think it will be able to run windows vista or later. It would be too buggy and slow.
